The Current Visa
The current visa subclass we assist and manage on behalf of our clients is the:
- Subclass 408 Temporary Activity visa.
The 408 is the visa relevant for film and television and other entertainment productions. This framework was designed to make applying for a temporary visa smoother. It significantly reduces red tape for business, industry and individuals by removing sponsorship and nomination requirements for specific short stay activities.
The 408 visa is for people who want to come to Australia on a temporary basis to work in the entertainment industry. It covers on-camera performers and all crew.
Paper applications will no longer be required. All applications will be managed by Intomedia via an online portal. Simply CONTACT US and we will send you all the documentation we need to apply for Visas on your behalf.
‘The Proposer’
There is a requirement for applicants to have a ‘PROPOSER” for productions of less than three months. You will still require a Sponsor for projects lasting more than three months or if you are applying from within Australia. A point of difference between Intomedia and a migration agent is that we are an accredited Sponsor, able to support your project in either case.
The Proposer is still responsible for recommending clients who are of good standing, but the Proposer no longer carries financial or legal responsibility for compliance with Australian labour laws in the way that applies to us as the Sponsor for longer visa periods.
Intomedia is happy to consider being your Proposer. It is at our discretion, and you will still need to meet certain requirements and ratios of local international crew to be eligible.
